This annoys me greatly. RoJ's usefulness comes from an AI bug that's probably going to be fixed soon. I don't think it's worthy of mention as anything more than a stupid (and temporary) gimmick.

I prefer Illusion over DOmination in PvE. Too many skills that make it fun and easy. Clumsiness, Ineptitude, and Wandering Eye are effective against physical classes, Arcane Conundrum, Frustration, and Migraine work well against casters. And of course you can always run a Signet of Illusions build with some of the PvE spells like Sin Support, Technobable, Ruby Djinn, etc.

Problem with Illusion is that most people think of it for degen. Although there are lots of skills to provide degen in Illusion, degen isn't terribly effective in PvE. Phantom Pain and Shrinking Armor do provide nice options for some conditions, and work well when paired with Fragility and/or Fevered Dreams.

The buff to several skills to make them AoE helped (Clumsiness in particular). Ether Nightmare and Cry of Pain of course work great in PvE.

Domination has the better interrupt skills (Spike/Leak/Lock) but you can easily grab interrupts from Fast Casting and Inspiration (Power Drain/Return, Leech Sig, etc.). I'm not going to ever say Illusion is better than Domination in PvE, but I will argue that Dom is better than Illusion. Either works very well if you know how to use it.

I'm confused, first you say that degen isn't really effective in PvE (which I agree with), then you suggest Ether Nightmare over other PvE skills saying it's effective in PvE? I find that a little contradicting.

Yes, I always bold names in my posts, faraaz. It comes from being way too ar about how the quotes work on this Forum.

This isn't the place for a Sin vs. Warr debate/post/etc. I can say this: they both roll PvE way too damn easy.

Chthon, thanks for the extra info. I get one-track minded a lot. I'm human, despite the reports (frm my wife and other various ppl) that I am nothing more than a machine covered in organic matter, and I make mistakes. Often. (< see, I admitted it! If masterjer1 reads this, he needs to keep his mouth shut...)

Sorry, maybe I should have clarified that. Ether Nightmare is good because it works well with Cry of Pain. Only time I use it is if I also take CoP. However, if you do want to use degen, may as well make it a large degen (which EN does) and make it hit multiple targets (which EN does).

I don't think I'd go so far as to call your statement on reactive hexes a mistake. Your conclusion was correct; your rationale was correct where applicable (players who don't know how to neuter mobs, mobs that can't be neutered); it's just that there's another rationale of more general application.

Actually, Ether Nightmare is a terrible choice for using with Cry of Pain. There's a thread dedicated to that topic around here somewhere.

I always prefer [Mind Wrack] or [Wastrel's Worry] if using a Dom. build or [Shrinking Armor] or [Fragility] for an Illusion. based build.

Definitely [Mind Wrack] if using an x/me crier.
